Java baskets are handwoven in Indonesia using ancestral craftsmanship. Mendong, an aquatic grass growing on the island of Java, is harvested, soaked for several weeks, then dried before being carefully woven. For this model, jute thread has been incorporated into the weaving, providing a softer texture and an even more natural look.
Each piece is unique, and reflects the richness of the raw materials and the talent of local artisans.
