The linen used for this tablecloth is grown by organic farmers in France and woven at the Libeco mill in Belgium. The production process is as environmentally responsible as possible and holds GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification. The weaving process itself is certified carbon neutral.

A little history...
Libeco linen is woven in Belgium, where every metre of fabric is carefully inspected and corrected by hand where needed. Their products are crafted with the greatest attention to quality, as well as to the environment. Linen is one of the most sustainable fibres in the world, and at Libeco, responsible business practices have always been a core value. In recent years, significant milestones have been reached — including certification as a carbon-neutral company and the launch of a fully organic linen collection. Libeco's story began in 1858 in Flanders, at a time when weaving was still carried out on hand looms by farmers, providing them with a vital additional income during the harsh winter months when the land lay frozen. Once woven, the cloth was transported by horse-drawn cart to Kortrijk — then the very heart of the linen industry. Libeert & Compagnie kept its offices and warehouses opposite the railway station, where traders would travel from across the globe in pursuit of the prized Flemish linen.
Today, the fifth generation of the Libeert family leads the company — and together with their 200 dedicated colleagues, they continue to weave their remarkable story.
