Hiroshima Chair in Natural Recycled Teak

This Hiroshima chair in natural teak is handcrafted by Joe Sayegh from reclaimed wood. Not a single tree was felled in its making.

The teak used comes from offcuts, roots and branches set aside by the timber industry on account of knots and natural variations in tone.

Joe Sayegh embraces these so-called "imperfections", allowing them to play beautifully against the clean, pared-back design of this collection — the result being pieces of singular character.

These raw, organic forms are elevated by the maker's imagination and skill. The wood is polished, lacquered, varnished, bleached or charred according to his inspiration, yielding creations that are at once rough-hewn and exquisitely refined.
