Founded in 1882, La Scourtinerie de Nyons is unique in France. Formerly used for the traditional extraction of olive oil, these natural fibers of coconut are available today under dishes, placemats, carpets and wonderful shadehouses with a lot of character!
The Provençal scourtin "escourtin", a small beret, is a flat basket that was originally used as a filter for the production of olive oil. Braided from coconut fiber, a rot-proof and heat-resistant natural material.
This 25 cm diameter sourtin will make a perfect trivet, under pot or wall decoration.
