Tokyo Carbon Chair in Recycled Teak

This Tokyo chair in carbon-toned teak is lovingly handcrafted by Joe Sayegh from recycled wood. Not a single tree was felled in its making.

The teak is sourced from offcuts, roots and branches set aside by the timber industry on account of their knots and tonal variations.

Joe Sayegh chooses to celebrate these so-called "imperfections", which contrast beautifully with the clean, understated design of the collection — resulting in truly unique pieces brimming with character.

These raw, elemental forms are elevated by the maker's imagination and mastery. The wood is polished, lacquered, varnished, washed or scorched as inspiration dictates, yielding creations that are at once raw and deeply refined.
